Brookwater Golf Club

Brookwater Golf Club, Queensland’s undisputed No.1 public access course, is only 45 minutes’ drive from Surfers Paradise and makes an excellent addition to any Gold Coast Golf holiday. The course winds its way through naturally undulating, heavily wooded bushland, with signature bunkering and expert use of natural waterways. The spectacular Greg Norman-designed championship course has recently been redesigned to improve playability and sustainability. The renovations included the strategic remodeling of greens, fairways and bunkers and has returned Brookwater to its original design by widening playing corridors and resurfacing green complexes. Whilst Brookwater remains a challenging course, the changes have made it one that golfers will want to revisit and play regularly. From Pros to high handicappers, the captivating course offers something for everyone.

Royal Pines Golf Resort

As a past host of the Australian PGA Championship, RACV Royal Pines Resort showcases its fantastic, recently redesigned, championship course. The 27-hole complex has the flexibility to produce three unique 18-hole combination courses and can therefore provide a memorable round of golf regardless of ability. The Australian PGA Championship was  played over a composite of the Green and Gold nines and features tight fairways, undulating greens and manicured swales with each nine having its own distinctive challenges. Royal Pines is set against a lush tropical background, is just minutes from the beach and will test even the most astute golfer.

Lakelands Golf Club

It took the legendary Jack Nicklaus 25 years to find the perfect location for his first signature course in Australia – the course at Lakelands Golf Club proves that good things come to those who wait. There are five tee positions to vary the course’s degree of difficulty (choose wisely) plus plenty of water hazards and extensive bunkering to protect both the fairways and greens. As you would expect with any ‘signature’ course, presentation is immaculate and the level of service in the club’s other superb facilities is second to none.

The Glades Golf Club

The Glades Golf Club is a beautiful and inspiring Greg Norman-designed course that boasts the reputation of one of Australia’s most prestigious resort golf courses. Typical of his trademark aggressive layouts, The Glades offers golfers a challenging round of golf within visually stunning surrounds. The Glades greens are unique to any other golf course on the Gold Coast as they consist of a new type of “Creeping bent grass” that ensures a superior putting surface all year round. The Palms at Sanctuary Cove Golf Club

The Palms golf course at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club underwent a multi-million-dollar reconstruction at the turn of the decade and was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Ross Watson. Since its reopening in April 2011, The Palms is considered a championship course rivalling some of the best golf courses in Australia and is now ranked in Australian Golf Digest’s Top 50 golf courses. It has a rustic bunkering style and numerous water features and hazards. Although not overly long, tee placements have been designed to suit a variety of playing conditions and a diverse range of players. Nestled within century old Cabbage Palms with distinctive holes, deep greenside bunkers and boldly contoured greens, The Palms at Sanctuary Cove is truly ‘a thinking golfer’s course’, requiring creative shot making and excellent course management.

Links Hope Island Golf Club

Links Hope Island is located just 20 minutes’ drive from Surfers Paradise. It is one of Australia’s best resort golf courses, the highest ranked publicly accessible course on the Gold Coast and is regarded by many as Peter Thomson’s finest architectural design. It is a true links-style layout with humps, hollows and 128 white sand pot bunkers. Strategic thinking is therefore required, not least to avoid the numerous natural and man-made water hazards around which many of the holes are shaped. The course is also designed with consideration of the prevailing wind direction. The course and facilities at Links Hope Island are 5-star all the way.
